Another Motor Neuron Disease (MND) patient unresponsive to Riluzole has ended his disease course and achieves clear symptom improvement after treatment at Wu Medical Center!
Ms. Tahani Abdullah Alnajjar, a graceful 52-year-old woman from Oman, unfortunately began experiencing weakness in her right hand 3 years ago without any obvious cause. This weakness progressively limited her finger function and advanced to weakness in both upper and lower limbs, accompanied by muscle atrophy. She was diagnosed with "motor neuron disease" at a local hospital and was prescribed "riluzole," which proved ineffective, leading to its discontinuation as her condition continued to worsen.
At the age of 52, a woman is typically in a phase of life where her experiences and abilities are flourishing, yet Ms. Alnajjar watched her body deteriorate over a short 3 years. Her mobility was severely restricted, rendering her unable to care for herself, while her various pursuits were hindered by the advancing disease, leading to overwhelming depression for both her and her family.
It is well-known that MND is considered "ineffectively" treated by traditional medicine. Patients like Ms. Alnajjar, once diagnosed at local hospitals, are typically recommended riluzole as the first-line treatment, but this medication does not improve motor function; it only extends life by 3 months while the disease continues to progress. It is only when both the patient and their family can no longer endure the physical and emotional toll of the condition that they seek more suitable and effective therapies.
Dr. Wu, a seasoned clinical expert in neurology and stem cell therapy, has focused on stem cell treatment for MND for over 30 years. He has accumulated a wealth of successful clinical cases and rich clinical experience in using neural stem cells and mesenchymal stem cells + CAST therapy. His work has helped patients end the course of their disease, improve symptoms—especially motor function—and enhance their quality of life, even allowing some to return to a normal lifestyle and work. The positive reputation from around the world has attracted many patients like Ms. Alnajjar to seek help at Wu Medical Center.
After just 2 weeks of inpatient treatment, Ms. Alnajjar showed obvious improvement in motor function, with the progression of her disease halted. Her neck and shoulder muscle strength improved from grade 4 before treatment to nearly grade 5 now. Prior to treatment, her left upper limb proximal strength was grade 3 and grip strength was grade 3, making it difficult to hold a cup; now, her left upper limb strength has reached grade 4, and she can grasp a cup to drink. Her right upper limb proximal strength was grade 2, and grip strength was grade 1, with stiffness preventing bending; now, her right upper limb strength is at grade 3+, allowing her to raise her arm about 30 centimeters while lying down, and she can reach her head with her hand. In a semi-reclined position, she can touch her eyebrows, and her right grip strength has improved to grade 3-, enabling her to grasp another person's fingers and resist some resistance. Her hand joints were stiff before treatment, but now the flexibility of her fingers has noticeably improved. Initially, her lower limb strength was grade 3-, and she could only lift her left leg for 5 seconds and her right leg for about 3 seconds when lying down, unable to lift both legs simultaneously; now, her lower limb strength is grade 4, allowing her to walk independently to the restroom. She can maintain a one-leg lift for 10 seconds, and while lying down, she can lift both legs for 5 seconds. Before treatment, her toes and ankles were stiff, especially on the left side; now, the stiffness in her lower limbs has decreased. Additionally, her energy, stamina, and exercise endurance have all significantly improved.
We will continue to monitor Ms. Tahani Abdullah Alnajjar's condition and do our utmost to help her achieve further progress.
We hope to support more patients like Ms. Tahani Abdullah Alnajjar to experience at Wu Medical Center the advanced stem cell + CAST therapies that differ from traditional medicine. Our goal is to halt the disease progression, improve symptoms and motor function, enhance their quality of life, boost confidence in their daily lives and work, and allow them to enjoy their unique life journeys.
