Dr. Wu's team once again helps an ALS patient stop disease progression and significantly improve vitality!
Mr. Lyubomirov Ivan, a tall and distinguished 55-year-old gentleman from Bulgaria, unfortunately suffered from progressive dysphonia, swallowing difficulties, and limb weakness for a year and a half, with worsening symptoms over the last 2 months, leading to a diagnosis of ALS. His weakened voice, muscle weakness in his limbs and hands, and declining respiratory function caused him to lose 15 kg since the onset of the disease. He had previously tried local treatments with vitamins, protein, and testosterone, but they were ineffective and his condition continued to deteriorate.
Seeing Mr. Lyubomirov Ivan in such a fragile state, his family began searching for global hospitals and experts treating ALS through various channels, ultimately focusing on Wu Medical Center. First, Dr. Wu's team utilized both neural stem cells and mesenchymal stem cells + CAST therapy, which is different from many hospitals that use only a single type of stem cell for treatment. Additionally, in the past over 20 years, Dr. Wu employs a unique, original, safe, and effective stem cell clinical technique that has genuinely helped many ALS patients halt disease progression, improve their increasingly frail physical symptoms, enhance their quality of life, and some patients have even been able to return to normal work since their treatment.
Within just 2 weeks of hospitalization, Mr. Lyubomirov Ivan experienced significant improvements in motor function, with an overall enhancement of about 30%, and the progression of his disease was halted. His respiratory function improved, and his speech transformed from weak and fragmented before treatment to a louder and more coherent manner now. His limb strength improved; the proximal muscle strength in both upper limbs increased from grade 3 before treatment to grade 4 now, allowing him to counter considerable resistance. His left hand grip strength increased from grade 2- to grade 3, enabling him to grasp another person's fingers and pinch a reflex hammer with two fingers; his right hand grip strength rose from grade 3+ to 4+. His lower limb strength improved from grade 3+ before treatment to grade 4 now. In a supine position, he could maintain a right angle in hip flexion and knee flexion in his left lower limb for over 10 seconds, and for his right lower limb, it was 13 seconds. Before treatment, he experienced limited mobility in his lower limbs and felt hip pain when spreading his legs to about 30 degrees; now, the stiffness in his hip joints has significantly decreased, and the spasms and pain have disappeared. Previously, he struggled to complete the knee-heel-tapping test, but now he can do it faster and more steadily. Before treatment, he required slow assistance to rise from a seated position on the bed, could only walk short distances slowly with a cane, had difficulty turning, could not stand on one leg, had poor walking balance, and was prone to falling. Now, he requires less support while walking, his speed has increased, turning is noticeably more flexible, stability has improved, and his walking distance has extended. His energy levels, physical fitness, and exercise endurance have significantly increased.
We will continue to monitor Mr. Lyubomirov Ivan's treatment to help him achieve further progress.
We hope to accompany more patients like Mr. Lyubomirov Ivan, who are suffering from ALS, to experience the advanced 2 types of stem cell therapy + CAST treatment at Wu Medical Center, which differs from traditional medical approaches, halting disease progression, improving symptoms, enhancing their quality of life, and enabling them to face their future lives and work with greater confidence.
