Before treatment:
The patient wanted to kill himself 20 years ago, but he didn't have any bad emotions before, his family members took him to hospital and diagnosed as Bipolar Affective Disorder(depressive disorder and anxiety disorder), at the same time, he had problems with his sleep, he was not able to sleep, so he took psychoactive drug and sleeping pills, but the effect was not well. 15 years ago, he began to have frequency of urination and endless urination, he had to urinate every 45-60 minutes, he also needed to push his bladder to help himself urinate. He had some examinations at the local hospital and the result was normal. He took some oral drugs but had no improvement. He has intermittent low spirit, he always feel nerves and fears, he doesn't want to kill himself, has no aggressive behaviour. He takes Zolpidem 25 mg to sleep 5 hours, he has less interest to the word, his memory is worse than before. He had frequency of urination and endless urination.
His diets are normal. He had normal excrement, his weight was normal.
Admission PE:
Body temperature: 36.5 degree. Bp: 132/83mmHg; Hr: 84/min. Br: 18/min. The development and nutrition were normal. There was no yellow stain or petechia on skin and mucosa. There was no congestion of throat, the tonsil was normal. The respiratory sounds in both lungs were clear, with no obvious dry or moist rales. The rhythm of his heartbeat was regular. There was no obvious murmur in the valves. The abdomen was bulge. There was no pressing pain or rebound tenderness. The liver and spleen were normal, his abdomen was tympanic resonance when the doctor knocked. His four limbs and spinal column were normal. There was no edema of lower limbs.
Nervous System Examination:
Mariotte was alert and his spirit was good. The examination of orientation was normal. But his memory or calculation was a little lower than normal. Both pupils were equal in size and round, the diameter was 3.0 mms. Both pupils were sensitive to light stimulus. Both eyeballs had flexible movement, there was no nystagmus. The forehead wrinkle pattern was symmetrical. He could close his eyes strongly. Bilateral nasolabial sulcus was equal in depth. His tongue was centered in the oral cavity. He could raise his soft palate strongly. The neck was soft. The muscle power and muscle tension of his four limbs were normal. The tendon reflex, deep and shallow sensation were normal. The sucking reflex was negative. Both side Hoffmann sign, palm jaw reflex and Babinski sign were negative. The examination of coordinate was normal. The Romberg's sign and meningeal irritation sign were negative.
Treatment:
After admission, we initially gave Mariotte a complete examination. He was diagnosed as 1. Bipolar Affective Disorder(depressive disorder and anxiety disorder) 2. Inguinal Hernia(postop.). So he received 3 times of neural stem cell injection and 3 times of mesenchymal stem cell injection to improve the blood circulation in order to increase the blood supply to the damaged neurons, nourish the nerves and stabilize his mental state. This accompanied with daily physical rehabilitation.
Post-treatment:
After 2 weeks’ treatment, his mental state was better, he didn’t feel nervous or fears any more, his memory was better, his calculation was normal, he showed more interests to the word around, his reaction was quickly, he was able to sleep well about 8-9 hours each day. His urinary function was improved, he had less urinations and the period between two urinations was longer.
