Before treatment:

The patient had an operation for a spinal cord tumor 5 years ago. The operation went well, but the patient suffered from swelling of the right lower limb, with no obvious pain. There was numbness in both planta pedis. The loss of hearing by the patient was severe. The complication of the operation was considered. From the onset of the disease, the patient's spirit was good, the emotion was normal. He had a normal diet and slept normally. The urine and defecation were normal. At present, the patient's hearing has deteriorated severely. The right side is more severe than the left side. The right ear could hear loud sounds with the use of a hearing aid.

Admission PE: There was swelling in the right lower limb, and the circumference of the right lower limb was about 10cm larger than the left lower limb. The circumference above the right lower limb's 10cm patella was 57cm. The circumference above the left lower limb's 10cm patella was 48cm. The circumference below the right lower limb's 20cm patella was 44cm. The circumference below the left lower limb's 20cm patella was 38cm. There was a surgical scar on the rear side of the spine. Nervous System Examination: Naby Bayez Usuu was alert and he was in good spirits. He spoke fluently. His memory, calculation abilities and orientation were almost normal. Both pupils were equal in size, the diameter was 2.5mms. Both eyeballs could move flexibly and the pupils reacted normally to light stimulus. The forehead wrinkle pattern was symmetrical. His bilateral hearing ability had seriously deteriorated. He also had persistent tinnitus. The hearing loss on his right side was more severe than his left side through loose measurement: with the assistance of a hearing-aid, his left ear could pick up 80dB. His left ear could hear finger snapping from a distance of 20cm. His right ear could hear finger snapping from a distance of 10cm. The Turn-fork test: Weber test, to the left. Rine test: bilateral short positive (left side air conduction 27 seconds, right side air conduction 16 seconds). Bone conduction contrast test: shorter than normal, about 10-12 seconds. He had no difficulty swallowing. The muscle strength when raising his soft palate was strong. The tongue was in the center of the oral cavity. The muscle strength of his four limbs was almost normal. The muscle tone of his four limbs was almost normal. Bilateral abdominal reflex was normal. Bilateral biceps reflex, radio periosteal reflex, triceps reflex, patellar tendon reflex and Achilles tendon reflex were normal. Bilateral palm jaw reflex, Rossilimo sign and Hoffmann sign were negative. The Babinski sign was neutral. The deep sensation and shallow sensation examination showed: both feet were numb, others were normal. The examination of movement coordination was normal. There were no signs of meningeal irritation.

Treatment:
Naby Bayez Usuu received treatment from August 29, 2013. He received treatment for nerve regeneration and to activate the stem cells in the body. He also received treatment to improve his blood circulation in order to increase the blood supply to the damaged neurons and to nourish them. This was accompanied by daily physical rehabilitation training and a diabetic diet.

Post treatment:
The patient's hearing ability is better than before: without a hearing-aid, he can hear at a volume of 40-50dB. The Turning fork test: Weber test, turn to left side. Rine test: left side air conduction 59 seconds, right side air conduction 52 seconds. Bilateral bone conduction: left side 24 seconds, right side 18 seconds. The edema of his right lower limb is alleviated. His skin is smoother now. The circumference of his right lower limb: above right lower limb patella 10cm, circumference is 51 cm, below right lower limb patella 20cm, circumference is 42 cm. All the results are better than at admission.
