Before treatment:
The patient was a premature baby. He was put in an incubator for 34 days  after birth. His family members found his eyes were showing no reaction to moving objects so he was taken to hospital and was diagnosed with ROP. His vision function is bad and he only had light sense. At present he can’t see anything, he only has light sense in his left eye and he also rubs his eyes.
His spirit is normal, his sleep and diet are normal. His urination and defecation functions are normal.

Admission PE:
Bp: 91/64mmHg, Hr: 84/min, breathing rate: 20/min, body temperature: 36 degrees. His height is 103 cm, weight 19.5Kg. Nutrition status is good with normal physical development. There is no injury or bleeding spots of his skin and mucosa, no blausucht and no throat congestion. The respiratory sounds in both lungs were clear with no dry or moist rales. The heart beat is powerful with regular cardiac rhythm and no obvious murmur in the valves. The abdomen was flat and soft, with no masses or tenderness. The liver and spleen were normal.

Nervous System Examination:
Patient was alert, had clear speech and his  memory, orientation and calculation abilities were normal. Right side pupil was irregular, left side pupil was round. He reacted clumsily to light and he could not distinguish colors or complete the nystagmus examination. The right eye was blind clinically, the left eye had some light sensation. He can feel the objects movement in front of him with good light environment and with frequent rubbing of his eyes. The bilateral forehead wrinkle and nasolabial fold are symmetrical, swallowing function was normal, hearing ability was normal. Neck can move freely, the 4 limbs muscle tone and muscle power were normal. Tendon reflex of the 4 limbs was normal, abdomen reflex was normal, the sucking reflex was negative. The bilateral palm-jaw reflex, the Hoffmann sign of both sides, the Rossilimo sign of both sides and the bilateral Babinski sign were all negative. The sensory and coordinate movement were basically normal. The meningeal irritation sign was negative.

Treatment:
After the admission he received 3  cell regeneration treatments (neural stem cells and mesenchymal stem cells) to repair his damaged retina, replace dead retinal cells, nourish retina, regulate his immune system and improve blood circulation. This was done with rehabilitation training.     

Post-treatment:
After 15 days treatment his left eye light sensation got better, right eye had light sensation also and he started to distinguish the colourful things. He can also point to the location of things more clearly. His left pupil’s reaction to light got more flexible and his right pupil which was an irregular shape before became almost round. (with a diameter of about 4.0mm)
