Before treatment:
Meng zhen was presented with polydipsia, polyphagia, and diuresis and weight loss 10 years ago. Her blood glucose was high and diagnosed as Disease type 2. She took gliclazide and diformin tablet to control her blood glucose but the response was not very well. The average blood sugar: 8-16mmol/L. She easily gets tired and catch cold. Her wound was hard to heal. She had hypertension for 15 years, the highest pressure was 185/105mmHg. She took Nifedipine Sustained-release Tablets and enalapril to control her blood pressure, the average blood pressure: 120-165/75-100 mmHg. The patient had no history of other disease. There was no history of drug allergies.

Admission PE:
Bp: 165/95mmHg; Hr: 75/min. She was alert. Her speech and spirit were good. All part of her skin was dry. The remote end of both lower limbs was lower than normal. Her skin was without yellow stain or blood spots. The border of heart was normal. The rhythm of her heartbeat was normal, with no obvious murmur. The respiratory sounds in both lungs were clear, with no obvious rales. Her abdomen was soft, the liver and spleen were normal. Both lower limbs had no dropsy. Fasting blood glucose: 8.2mmol/L. Postprandial blood sugar: 15.1mmol/L. Her fatty liver was changed.

Nervous System Examination:
Meng zhen was alert and good spirit. Her memory, calculation, orientation, comprehension and judgment were normal. The forehead wrinkle pattern was symmetrical. The tongue was in the center of oral cavity. The movement of both eyeballs was flexible and both pupils were sensitive to light stimuli. She could lift her soft palate. Her neck was soft without opposition. She could shrug her shoulders strongly. The muscle power and tension of four limbs were normal. Her extremities prior’s pain sensation decreased. Decreased tendon reflex of four limbs. Bilateral palm jaw reflex was positive. Bilateral pathological sign was negative. Bilateral coordinate movement was normal. The meningeal irritatation was negative.

Treatment:
Meng zhen was diagnosed as 1. Disease type 2 and 2. Hypertensive. She received all of the relevant examinations. She was given treatment in order to control her blood pressure, sugar levels and organs functions. Treated the periodontitis and nourish the neurons.

Post-treatment:
At present, the patient’s spirit and body strength are good. Her skin was better. Her extremities prior’s pain and temperature sensation is normal. Her blood pressure and blood sugar are stable. Fasting blood glucose: 5-7mmol/l, blood glucose after meal two hours: 7-9mmol/l. Her blood pressure: 120-135/70-85mmHg.
