Before treatment:
He suffered from not only from fatigue, poor appetite, and weight loss but also poor mood and indifference for 6 months. He had difficulty in falling into sleep and he sleeps 3-4 hours/day. He was diagnosed with 1. Post brain injury; 2. Major
depression. He was given medicine to nourish brain cells but did not get desirable outcome.

Admission PE:
Bp: 144/99mmHg, Hr: 74/min, Wt: 90Kg. The respiratory sound was clear without dry and moist rales. The heart sound was strong and regular and there was no obvious murmur in the valve. The abdomen was enlarged and soft without tenderness. The liver and spleen were normal under palpation. The legs had no edema. In lab test, the serum cholesterol and triglyceride were higher than normal. 

Nervous System Examination:
Robert was alert and his speech was fluent. His memory, calculation and orientation abilities were normal. Both pupils were equal in size and round, the diameter was 3.0 mms, both eyeballs could move freely. Both eyes had sensitive response to light stimuli. The nasolabial groove was equal in depth and his mouth had no distortion. The neck was soft without resistance. The muscle power of limbs was at level 5 and the muscle tone was normal. The tendon reflex of left side was normal while that of right side was a bit weak. The deep and shallow sensation of body was normal. The bilateral abdominal reflex was normal. The bilateral pathological signs were negative. The coordinating examination and meningeal irritation sign were normal. In the Beck‘s Depression Inventory, his grade was 35 which was in accordance with major depression.

Treatment:
After admission, he was diagnosed with 1. Post brain injury; 2. Major depression; 3. Hyperlipidaemia. He was given three times’ injections of neural stem cells and mesenchymal stem cells to initiate his neural repair and regeneration, and also active his own stem cells. He also received treatment to nourish nerves, improve circulation, and adjust immune system. This was accompanied with rehabilitation training.

Post-treatment:
After the treatment, patient’s emotion and mood turn better conspicuously. His sleep extends to 6-8 hours. His fatigue has gone and he can participate in exercise actively. In the Beck’s Depression Inventory, his grade is 18, which is slight depression.
